Floriade 2012: Ginkgo leaf shaped garden

"Stichting Naturama has created a butterfly garden at Floriade 2012 entitled “Footkiss for Butterflies”. The butterfly garden is an interactive work of art in which both the visitor and the butterfly take part. The garden is in the shape of a huge, sloping leaf from the Japanese Ginkgo biloba tree.
You walk barefoot across the leaf’s nerves, which serve as a blueprint for the route you will follow. The paths are made of special grass interwoven with low-growing flowers that are also gentle underfoot.
The element bringing it all together is the Golden Section, which is not only the central point of the butterfly garden but also of the Floriade Park itself. Visitors can have their picture taken at the Golden Section, which is marked by a millstone. "
A Ginkgo tree is planted close to the garden.
